RealMatch compared to traditional job sites
The RealMatch online recruitment system is fundamentally different than most job sites. The differences are centered on 5 major areas:
1. A new user experience - Real-time job matching
Traditional job sites force candidates to enter keywords or categories in order to view listings of jobs (with job descriptions that contain those exact keywords). By contrast, the RealMatch system is based on real-time profile matching. Candidates upload their resumes and separately enter their skills, employment history, and preferences while the employers enter their job requirements. The system matches the two, in real-time, showing each side only relevant (ranked) results. No more weeding through hundreds of job listing and resumes. Using the RealMatch recruitment system candidates can focus on the jobs they qualify for and are interested in, and employers can focus on the most qualified candidates for their jobs.
2. A new job distribution model
Traditional job sites allow the employer to post jobs only on their site. By contrast, RealMatch posts the employer’s jobs on hundreds of sites, including many for-a-fee job sites. The RealMatch network of sites includes many newspapers, TV and radio stations, chambers of commerce, and many high traffic sites that serve specific verticals such as healthcare, tech and sales. Jobs posted on any powered by site in the Realmatch network will benefit from exposure to over 37 million users per month.
3. A new pricing model
Traditional job sites require the employer to pay up-front independent of results (getting qualified applicants). By contrast, RealMatch’s Pay-Per-Performance pricing model allows the employer to post jobs for free and view the profiles matching candidates and applicants - also for free. The employer can optionally purchase a resume opening package and get the contact information and full resume of the candidate/applicant. The decision to purchase is entirely up to the employer!
4. A reach to “passive” job seekers
Traditional job sites attract “active” job seekers. To reach ‘passive’ job seekers requires a separate search of their resume database (for pay, naturally). By contrast, RealMatch combines the candidate matching and searching into a single seamless automatic process. When a job is posted it is automatically matched with qualified and interested candidates in our database. No need to perform a tedious and inefficient resume database search. Once a job is posted we automatically show the employer a graded and ranked list of matching candidates from our database. We also send these highly matched candidates an alert about the job and allow the employer to communicate with them directly. Since candidates who visit our network can register anonymously and explore career opportunities, we attract millions of qualified job seekers that are not quite ready to apply to a job. The employer can view their anonymous resume summary and invite them to apply to their job.
5. A free Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
Traditional job sites swamp the employer’s inbox with dozens or hundreds or unqualified resumes. By contrast, the RealMatch recruitment system screens, grades and ranks all candidates within a simple and intuitive interface. When the employer creates a job they specify the job’s requirements and add as many screening (qualifying) questions as needed. These qualifying questions are presented to all applicants. So by the time the employer gets the list of applicants, they have been screened, ranked and graded. The employer can, at their option, use the system to track the recruitment process from stage to stage.
What is pay per performance employment advertising?
Unlike most job sites, RealMatch does not require you to pay up front to post a job. Instead, you can post your job free and pay only if the response we generate is acceptable to you. Once you post your job, we will advertise the job on our powered by network of job sites as well as over three dozen partner job boards. The first thing you’ll see when you post a job is a list of passive candidates from our database. These candidates match your job’s requirements by at least 60%. We will also begin featuring your job in light rotation to active job seekers across the RealMatch network. You are likely to start seeing a few applicants for your job within 24 hours from the time you post. You will be able to view the resume summary of all candidates for each posted job free. Resume summaries do not contain contact information; instead they provide an overview of each candidate’s skills and experiences. To view the contact information or full resume of candidates, you will need to purchase a resume opening package.

In addition to seeing the full resumes and contact information of all candidates, your job will also be placed into heavy rotation across the RealMatch network of premium sites. This will result in significantly more exposure for your job. All jobs are posted for 45 days. You can purchase a “resume opening package” any time during such 45 days. But your job will be removed from the site if you do not purchase a “resume opening package” within the job’s 7 days evaluation period. If the purchase a package after the 7 days period, the job will be re-posted for the remaining of the 45 days posting period. Once you purchase a “resume opening package” you will have 45 days to view all the resumes that you have received during the 45 days of posting. After 45 days you will be able to continue to view the resumes that you opened during the initial 45 days. The chart below explains the time frames for posting and resume viewing.
How does Real-time Job Matching work?
Candidates that register complete a professional profile that includes adding their skills, qualifications and employment history. All key parameters must be selected from our database so we can make sure a candidate’s skills and a job’s requirements match. Candidates can also upload their resume which we use to extract additional information from. When you post a job, you will choose the skills and experiences you require using our database of titles and skills. You can use the RealMatch taxonomy to browse and search for skills using keywords or categories. If you can’t find a skill in our list you can create a skill using free text. However, that skill cannot be used for matching and will only be used for screening applicants. We are continuously updating our skill list. Make sure you search well for your skill as it may appear under a different name (e.g. “CSS” vs. “Cascading style sheets”).You can also add qualifying questions to further screen applicants. There is always one default question, “Have you performed a similar job in the past”. We ask this question so we can give candidates with a relevant background a higher match score than candidates with no relevant experience. You can also select the importance level for each skill you enter. If you select “must have” we will not show your job to candidates who do not have the skill in their profile and will not give possible qualified candidates a chance to say that they have that skill. So be cautious about using “Must have” as this often screens out qualified candidates that have not been given a chance to enter the particular skill you are seeking. Marking a skill as “important” or “very important” will make your job available to more candidates and will give that skill a different weight in our match score. Match levels are shown as “Best”, “Sufficient” or “Basic”. The specific score may vary but in general a candidate can only get a “Basic Match” score, if he is more than 50% match. When candidates apply to your job we check whether they have the skills that you require in their profile and resume. If applicants have not yet identified having a specific skill which you require, the application page will ask about those skills to make sure we can grade and rank the applicants according to the requirements of your job. Every time a candidate on our system fills out an application; we garner more and more information about them making our resume of passive candidates stronger and more matchable! Our matching algorithm takes into account the candidates’ skills, their answers to your qualifying questions, their employment history and other qualifications. We can only use information that was deciphered from the candidates’ profile and resume. Although our technology is highly accurate, it is not perfect and may be limited in its ability to verify specific skills. Therefore, when you see matching candidates (not applicants) you cannot always know how well they qualify for your job. This can be done once you open their full resume. Flipping the recruitment advertising business model on its head
RealMatch has reinvented the online employment experience for candidates and employers. We use better technology, have broader distribution, provide an intuitive interface which doesn’t clog anyone’s inbox and offer a risk free pricing model for employers. Imagine walking into a store and someone stops you at the entrance then asks you to pay in advance for something they may or may not have on their shelves? Chances are pretty high you’d walk away aren’t they? But wait, isn’t this what “pay-to-post” job boards do to employers every day? Let’s take a look at the pricing model of sites like Monster.com™, HotJobs.com™ and CareerBuilder.com™. They require you to spend upwards of $400 or more to post a job before you know whether the posting will generate the qualified candidates you are looking for. If you need to search their resume database go ahead and add hundreds of dollars to get limited access to resumes that may or may not be what you are looking for.
Under that model, the job poster bears all the risk while the job website has no risk whatsoever. The job website gets paid regardless of whether the poster finds a qualified candidate or not. Over 70% of 3400 HR managers and recruiters we surveyed told us they are unsatisfied with the quality, price and pricing model offered by job sites such as Monster.com™, Hotjobs.com™ and CareerBuilder.com™. So while the Internet has progressed to “performance-based advertising”, job sites have remained behind, maintaining the old “pay to post” or “pay, post, and pray” business model. And while performance-based advertising models such as pay per click have become common-place today, they still place the risk on you. When you pay for clicks, clicks are often what you get. Are you looking for clicks to your ad or are you trying to find a brand manager with DTC experience in New Jersey? In the offline world, a store cannot sell tomatoes unless they stock tomatoes. They can’t charge you just to come in and look around for tomatoes. The same thing should be true of job platforms. RealMatch sells qualified candidates. We do not sell job postings or clicks or products which have no value. We place the value exactly where you do, on the candidate. If we cannot stock the candidates you are looking for, we don’t get paid. Now imagine your dilemma the next time you need to find a candidate. You might debate between paying up front with no guarantee of results or posting a job for free on the RealMatch network and only paying if you like the results. Could there be an easier decision to make? |
