b. Five years of management experience in law enforcement or security related field, with experience in an urban educational or institutional settings or an ability to demonstrate law enforcement or security experience applicable or beneficial to an educational setting.  Ten years of experience is preferred.

c. Demonstrated experience as a change agent, with a progressive outlook valuing change and challenging the status quo for the betterment of public safety and school security.

d. Demonstrated success having achieved significant improvements in safety and security in an educational or institutional setting or other similar environment.

e. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work collaboratively with community leaders, residents, employees, and employee groups in an open, honest, and constructive manner.

f. Demonstrated ability to deploy personnel and resources consistent with the security needs of multiple facilities.

g. Demonstrated strong citizen service orientation and commitment to diversity, as well as delivering respectful, consistent service in all communities.

h. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and maintain appropriate duties, standards, and performance accountability measures for security personnel.

i. Demonstrated understanding of the use of computers and related systems.

j. Demonstrated ability to monitor the Electronic Violence and Vandalism Reporting System (EVVRS) for accuracy and accountability.

k. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement an Emergency Management Plan.

l. Demonstrated knowledge of crisis preparedness, response and recovery related to Homeland Security.

m. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with City and State agencies in the execution of a plan in the event of local or national disaster.

n. Required criminal history background check, physical and proof of US citizenship or legal resident alien status.

o. A valid driver’s license as well as current insurance and vehicle with valid registration.
