For more information, please visit our website at www.pili.org PILI is seeking an experienced and committed Development Officer to join the New York-based development department and growing office. In this newly-created position reporting to the Director of Development, the Development Officer will be responsible for the writing of all grants, proposals, reports and other development-related writing assignments. This position requires a highly skilled writer who is responsible for managing all steps of the grant application process. Secondly, he/she will help in identifying additional funding opportunities and will work with the development staff to uncover new fundraising streams. Leading candidates will be highly-organized, creative and energetic and will be motivated by a strong interest in the development field, as well as human rights/social justice issues. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. Key responsibilities: Write letters of inquiry, concept papers, grant proposals, grant reports, acknowledgement letters, and other correspondence to foundations, corporations, law firms and government agencies; Collaborate with program staff to create compelling and accurate grant proposals; Work with development associate to gather and prepare all ancillary materials to accompany grants (financial data, bios, required forms, etc.); Manage prospect research including conducting targeted research on foundation, corporate, law firm and government funding opportunities; Provide support for the development of communications and marketing materials, including newsletters, brochures, annual reports, etc.; Assist with the coordination of small special events; and Other relevant duties, as assigned.
