Description: The International Film Festival Department (IFF) in Human Rights Watchs (HRW) New York office is seeking a part-time consultant to help manage logistics for its Youth Producing Change (YPC) program as part of its International Film Festivals.
The consultant will be responsible for coordinating youth produced film submissions, film selection process, coordinating text and images for the Film Festival program, oversight of Festival interns, and assisting with outreach and other logistical aspects of the Film Festival. We expect this project will consume three (3) full days a week. The consultancy will begin the week of November 1, 2009 and be completed as of July 16, 2010 at which point the position will be considered for renewal.
The consultants key responsibilities will include:
London, New York, Boston and San Francisco Film Festivals:
Coordinating text, images, printing and delivery of YPC materials
Acting as liaison to Film Festival publicists to provide relevant press materials
Film duplication and shipment of films
Providing support to on-site outreach coordinators in each city
Coordinating details of YPC receptions
Film Submissions:
Coordinating youth film submissions for the Festival
Tracking films, inputting film information into the Film Festival database.
Seeking youth produced film submissions from across the globe for the HRWIFF YOUTH PRODUCING CHANGE program
Requesting film screeners for consideration by the Festival and coordinating the film selection process
Corresponding with filmmakers and distributors, overseeing YPC contracts and receipt of required film information
Other:
Overseeing the recruitment and activities of the Film Festival interns and volunteers
