Job Summary:

Systems Programmer/Analyst II:  Regular Part-time position, schedule - varies, 20 hrs/wk, Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic - WPIC/UPMC, Child Depression Study, Location - Oakland.

 

In this position, you will be responsible for the data management, database programming, and statistical programming for research study databases.  You will also provide database management and data collection training to research personnel for research projects.

 

This position is 100% grant funded.

 

Responsibilities:

·          Provide programming and maintenance of any databases using Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access.

·          Provide ongoing troubleshooting, technical support, and maintenance of production applications, including on-call coverage.

·          To administer and support a Windows 2003 network of 20+ nodes, including secure remote (WWW and FTP), file and print services, e-mail backups, international access, hardware, and software.

·          Train entry-level research personnel in the design and maintenance of scanning forms and programs for data entry, data management, and subject tracking.

·          To provide training to IT and data management staff.

·          To evaluate and deploy appropriate hardware and software to meet the evolving needs of the research group.

·          To interface with the statisticians, statistical consultants, data manager, and other professionals to achieve IT goals.

·          To maintain SQL database applications for internal office automation and longitudinal data collection and manipulation, including development and reporting in client-server architecture.

·          To provide programming and database design support to the Program Project Database Management System to improve efficiency in data storage and retrieval.

·          To streamline office procedures through the development of new applications.

·          To participate in management team meetings, establishing priorities and deadlines to meet identified goals.  Ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.

·          Maintain detailed knowledge of various computing packages and programming languages, in order to address data analytic issues that are too complex for standard software packages.

 

Basic Qualifications:

·          Bachelors degree in Information Sciences, Statistics, or relevant discipline with exposure specifically to various programming languages and techniques required.  Masters degree preferred.

·          Minimum three years experience in all aspects of data management and analysis, including database creation, verification, database programming, statistical programming, and quality assurance procedures required.

·          Experience with Network File/Applications servers preferably Windows 2003 or higher.

·          Solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications; Access programming expertise desirable.

·          Substantive experience with Exchange server, web servers, and/or relational databases (preferably Microsoft SQL server) preferred.

·          Good oral and written communication skills are required.

 

Licensure/Certifications:

 

·          Act 33/34/73 Clearances required.
