Are you a journalist with experience writing about technology? Do you find printers interesting? Would you like to take a deep dive into the world of consumer and office printers?

Databazaar is America's largest independent retailer of printer supplies. On behalf of Databazaar, we operate Databazaar Blog, an online publication dedicated to the world of printers. We need a new blogger to take the helm. Take a look at Databazaar Blog to get a feel for the content (though we plan to collaborate with the new blogger to make some changes).

This freelance opportunity will require about 8-10 hours of research and writing per week ? perfect for a freelance journalist seeking some regular work and guaranteed income. You will work from home, not in our office.

Unlike most blogging gigs, this one will provide with you with a paycheck, behind-the-scenes support from an an editor and producer, and an audience on day one. In addition, the byline for this blog may establish (or further establish) you as a thought leader in the printer world, resulting in media mentions, speaking engagements, and other such opportunities.

Qualifications

Applicants must have the following qualifications:

Experience: At least two years of experience professionally blogging or reporting on technology topics, preferably for a well-known commercial publication. The more experience you have, the better.

Writing Skills: This requirement goes without saying. Most people with writing talent usually draw praise throughout their academic life and career.

Research Skills: You must have a knack for finding the proverbial needle in the haystack, which typically involves more than just searching Google.

Interview Skills: You may interview executives at Canon, Epson, HP and other companies so you must know how to frame questions that elicit information.

College Degree: Please list your cumulative GPA, especially if you have only 1-2 years of experience.

Equipment: We'll provide everything you need, but if you already have Microsoft Word so much the better.
